Nathaniel hoffman legacy gardens
In loving memory of
Nathaniel Hoffman,
we celebrate the profound passions that defined his life.
CHERISHING PEOPLE:
Nathaniel embodied the spirit of compassion, dedicating himself to family, friends, and community. And we gather to honor his legacy, we strive to emulate the warmth and generosity he extended to all.
EMBRACING NATURE:
Nathaniel found solace and joy in the natural world, particularly the vibrant tapestry of avian wonders. His infectious enthusiasm for the beauty of our planet continues to inspire us, and we seek to reflect this appreciation in the Nathaniel Hoffman Legacy Garden.
PURSUING EDUCATION:
Nathaniel’s journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of personal growth and communal betterment. His commitment to learning and leadership in Milwaukee’s Jewish schools, notably as president of TAM, exemplifies a dedication to intellectual and spiritual enrichment.
Nathaniel Hoffman served on the board as president of TAM over 20 years. He was passionate about every aspect of the school from the quality of teachers to the insurance coverage, to the building and surrounding landscape. He would bring his own hedge clippers and trim the bushes, he would meet the tree removal people to discuss taking down trees. Nathaniel was a well balanced person; he oversaw the big picture of TAM’s financials and yet he trimmed the bushes and he did both with dignity.
After fifteen years, the original landscaping at TAM needs a big picture overhaul and attention to details. To preserve and perpetuate Nathaniel Hoffman’s legacy we think the most fitting tribute is to do this work in his memory, and add a dimension that was also one of his passions- birds. We hope to install plants that will create a bird sanctuary on the property. Nathaniel traveled the world to bird watch, but he also spent much time with the Wisconsin birds.
Our hope is that the landscaping areas around the TAM building will be a beautiful tribute to our long time friend Nathaniel Hoffman of blessed memory.
Nathaniel’s profound commitment extended to Torah Academy of Milwaukee (TAM), where he served as president for over a decade. While TAM’s building stands as a testament to progress, the Nathaniel Hoffman Legacy Garden aims to elevate the overall educational experience by creating aesthetically pleasing and environmentally conscious outdoor spaces for students.
As we embark on this shared endeavor, let us cultivate the Nathaniel Hoffman Garden, a living tribute to a remarkable individual whose impact continues to blossom in our hearts and minds. Together, we nurture this garden, symbolizing our enduring gratitude for the privilege of knowing one of the finest souls amongst us.
YES! I/We want to be part of creating an everlasting legacy in honor of Nathaniel Hoffman.
